Seizures Controlled
After many months of unexplained health and developmental challenges, Camille was diagnosed with an aggressive condition calledElectrical Status Epilepticus in Sleep in May 2009. Camille was experiencing subclinical seizures during 90% of her sleep, resulting in loss of functional and cognitive skills which impacted her health as well. After some trial and error with treatment options, Camille’s seizures were erradicated at the end of July. For the near term, Camille will remain on high-dose Valium, which has numerous side effects, but has changed Camille’s life. Camille is working hard with her therapists to rebuild many of the basic skills that were lost, but making progress every day.
